As Winter fast approaches, be prepared for one of my occasional mega-post on new Winter ranges.
If you’ve read my post on Trasparenze recently, you’ll know what I’m talking about!
So, for my second Winter post, we head back to Italy with Levante, their thirteen new designs and why you shouldn’t wrap up too much this season.
Levante Garda Lace is our premier design, and what a design! Lace tights are forever popular and designers will release at least one in each new range, but these fashion tights are exceptional. The larger lace pattern makes this a bold look, and makes it one of the most tasteful lace patterns this season.
Levante Contrast Circles, you can tell by the photography this was designed with smart and chic in mind. Black tights have always been a fixture of women’s suits, but the white circles on this design give work wear an eye-catching advantage.
Opaque Punto is intricate, complex and fits in perfectly this season. The mesh of diamonds and snowflake white dots make it an ideal winter design.
Italian Argyle. Fashion tights don’t get much more striking than this. The sumptuous pink and lake green mixture makes for a warming addition to your winter wardrobe.
Toning Hoops, a classic ringed look, fantastic for add colour and verve to your plainer outfits. Levante have taken an old favourite and given it the most fitting colour scheme.
Levante Airskin. With these fashion tights, you can keep your legs on show and not worry about keeping warm. Our snuggest tights yet, 150 Denier will handle winter quite nicely, I think.
Sheer Cut Diamonds use leg wear to its greatest potential. The verticals act as a seam, and keep your legs looking long and slender. But it’s the diamond mesh that provides the eye-catching element to these truly innovative fashion tights.
Opaque Window Tights. How can you hide yourself behind a long coat with these on? A gorgeous arabesque honeycomb pattern that should work very well with the tones of the new season. Ivory is always a fantastic way to give a softer edge to striking Winter whites.
A unique design, Sheer Brix is futuristic, but entirely in the minute. The brick patterning keeps attention at the calves with long skirts, but adds an interesting seem around the thighs with your shorter numbers. Levante’s most versatile yet.
Levante’s Sheer Dot Dash Tights, a design I can’t describe and one you have to see for yourself. The whole piece is a mixture of different affects that come together beautifully. Office wear? Perhaps. But for me, these were made for catwalks and Saturday nights.
Contra Punto Hold Ups, the snowflake-dotted cousin of Punto fashion tights, is a design with a warmer pink colour-scheme to complement its tights counterpart, this time including the most original lace tops I’ve seen this season.
Punto Rib Hold Ups, a subtle design using an old leg-lengthening favourite, ribbed lines. Pairing these with heels will double the effect and will result in a winning outfit!
And now for my favourite, Levante Filigree. If any of Levante’s new fashion tights make you want to throw away thick trousers and long skirts, it’ll be these. Lavish designs are always a favourite from Italian designers, but these look more like a French regal design to me. A true Marie Antoinette item, and not to be worn with anything less than the most stunning dress!
So, now you know why swrapping up take a closer look first. Unfortunately, there just isn’t enough room to put all the pictures up here. Take a look at Levante, and if you liked this review, make sure you subscribe to get free reviews by email, for reviews on all sorts of stunning leg wear designs. Until then!
Summer is not what it used to be.
It seems that Summer is getting shorter every year, and if you live in Britain, you’ll have opened the curtains this morning and realised that it’s time for duffel coats.
So, as a dedicated fashion tights Blogger and leg wear expert, I thought I might recommend a few items to keep you nice and warm until October time, when the Autumn/Winter fashion season starts.
Kunert Warm Up Tights spring to mind. These tights are built for winter wear and designed to retain heat. If you need something to tackle arctic lows, these are for you.
If you don’t need this kind of super warm leg wear just yet, a lighter cotton pair might be better for you. Falke Cotton Touch will be just the ticket. These are our softest tights, and I recommend them to everyone looking for comfort and warmth. They’re also designed by one of the best manufacturers of hosiery in the world, Falke, and are beautifully made. I can’t recommend these enough if you want to start your perfect Winter wardrobe.
These items are all popular classics, but if you absolutely cannot wait for the new Winter fashion tights, we have the perfect item, Trasparenze Chopin, which comes in both tights and footless. This item is one of our best sellers, and as an extra treat, they seem to have both been lowered in the sale! These tights are crocheted, so they feel like a woolly jumper, and because they are made with 70% Lana wool, they are some of the comfiest of our fashion tights.
But you might be saying, “But Kyle, I live in a much hotter place than the UK, what about me?!” Well, if you’re weather is getting warmer this time of year, I’d recommend our Sheer Tights section. These are all fantastic if you still see the sun from time to time and our Fashion Tights section always has both Summer and Winter designs in it.
I hope this will keep you looking fabulous for the next few weeks until Autumn/Winter properly starts. Your best-loved brands should be arriving in no time, so keep an eye out for them on our site, or subscribe to my blog via email for free, and receive automatic updates. And don’t worry to much about those grey skies, we’ve chosen some very exciting designs this year, so you definitely have something to look forward to.
Who would be without their Black Tights? I know I wouldn’t! They are always popular, fashionable and elegant – and of course they look great with everything. Black has never gone out of fashion, it won’t anytime soon and with tights being our speciality, I decided to write about everything you need to know about finding the perfect pair of black tights.
I love choice, but there are so many different black tights on the market to choose from that it can become a bit overwhelming. Telling the difference between one pair of sheers and another, or opaques for that matter, isn’t the easiest. My golden rule for finding what you need is always to go by brands.
My favourite brand of the moment is Falke – they offer the perfect mix of quality and choice at the right price. When customers ask “what’s the best quality brand of hosiery you sell?” I always ask “what kind of hosiery do you need?” This is because every brand is specialised, and are great for different things.
Falke is one of the best brands I have encountered - they concentrate entirely on quality, and although they do release some very good designs, they are always aware that you need plain sheer black tights, and you want them feeling and looking fantastic.
Here’s a quick overview of some of our most popular black tights from Falke.
- Falke Seidenglatt 15 is our best seller from this range, and is especially made to give a glossy finish to the leg, perfect for pairing with over the knee skirts. These also come in 70 denier
- Shelina 12 are also a glossy item, but not as glossy as the Seidenglatt, making them perfect for a subtler and more conservative work outfit. These come in a regular 12 denier, very good quality hipster version. A toeless version is also available.
- And finally, Pure Matt 20, a totally non-glossy item that is probably something you have wanted to own for a while, but could never find one that was any good. They also come in a 50 denier version.
Of course, there are lots of other great brands to choose from and I love to give my readers choice and good advice of course!. Max Mara, one of our newer brands, was of great interest to me when it was announced that UK Tights would be selling them online, EXCLUSIVLEY! Max Mara is one of the biggest fashion designers in the world and feature prominently in four fashion weeks.
With their leg wear, Max Mara gives hosiery wearers something that other High Fashion names haven’t, choice. Freno are 50 denier black tights, something that isn’t seen so much from the larger fashion designers, that is exquisite to wear and is very popular right now.
Sheer tights form the core of Max Mara’s range, they have four different plain, sheer tights designs already available. Each design is specialised for different purposes, such as the Gibus, a super sheer and super strong design. These are one of the most popular sheers we have available today, and even though they are 13 denier, they are highly durable and a pleasure to wear.
And its good news, almost all of the Max Mara hosiery comes in that most popular of colours, so you’ll certainly not be short of black tights from this designer.
In 1947, a designer by the name of Achille Maramotti started his own portfolio stylish clothing and in 1951 he launched the House of Max Mara. His ventured launched him to the top of the fashion world and he began commissioning Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce & Gabbana and many others to contribute to his line. The company remains in the hands of the family to this day and Maramotti has been named on the Forbes Rich List in 2005. He was estimated to be one of the world’s richest men and judging by the creative designs you get from Max Mara, it’s not difficult to see why, every item of clothing you see is so stunning, it’s worth every penny. This is also why they like to maintain a veil of secrecy about the goings-on of the company, because their clothing designs are exquisite, they know they will be stolen in a heartbeat.
To say that Max Mara is worth every penny, and to say its founder is on the Forbes Rich List might put some people off the idea of browsing their selection. Don’t let this fool you; the price of their hosiery is surprisingly reasonable for a fashion house of this calibre. Their most inexpensive product is less than £10, but feels like it’s worth 50.
Famed for being one of the best for almost all articles of clothing, not least their fabulous coats, Max Mara have now decided to increase the availability of their hosiery by selling their collection online. We are honoured to be able to boast that we are the first online resellers to offer this sensational brand to our customer base.
Winter has always been a time when we go out and buy the warmest, most insulated clothing we can get our hands on. These items, however, can be a little on the garish and ghastly side and some should never be worn unless on the side of the Everest.
Recently though, designers have realised that as the weather worsens each year, people spend longer and longer wrapped up in the sort of clothes they would rather leave be. This is why fashion designers have released some pretty impressive pieces this last autumn/winter season.
At UK Tights, we have several suggestions on how to spruce up your wardrobe with up-to-the-minute fashion items, without having to put up with the cold weather.
Our “Leg Warmers” section in the “Fashion” menu has some fantastic suggestions for the loose and thick leg socks, a very popular style these days. The opaque page is always a sensible place to head, and with our super-thick 120 denier products, there’s not much you can’t find there.
Good news about the timeless Italian designers too, our Trasparenze Chopin Tights are now on special offer, just another reason to dispose of those overly-large coats in favour of something a little more chic this season!
Trasparenze is undoubtedly one of the best quality brands of hosiery on the market today, and is a tribute to the excellence of Italian fashion, which is why UK Tights, in partnership with Trasparenze, has decided to release an exclusive range of products for the Autumn/Winter season 2009/2010.
UK Tights will be the only supplier of Trasparenze Cortina Opaque Suspender Tights, a product supplied by a number of internet retailers in the past, which is making a come-back for the new season. Cortina has been a favourite with our customers and due to its popularity, Trasparenze has re-launched the product. Trasparenze have also decided to exclude department stores and high street shops from selling these products, meaning UK Tights will be the only place to go for this high quality leg wear.
The Cortina product itself shares a number of features with other products from Trasparenze, such as the Trasparenze Strip-Panty Suspender Tights, which have an in-built suspender belt, making them less time consuming, but allows them to look and feel like stockings.
Trasparenze Cortina is a higher denier than the Strip-Panty range, and is a perfect Winter alternative to sheers. The Cortina are also extremely alluring, both in sheer and opaque, as they act as stockings, an essential item of sensual leg wear. These tights also include the Trasparenze signature in the waistband, making them a stunningly attractive fashion statement.
Trasparenze Cortina is sure to be a very popular item for Autumn/Winter 2009/2010, and an essential addition to the wardrobe. UK Tights is proud to be bringing back this product and we are sure that our partnership with the Italian designer will continue to be productive, so we can bring the best the fashion industry has to offer to our customers.
