As Winter fast approaches, be prepared for one of my occasional mega-post on new Winter ranges.
If you’ve read my post on Trasparenze recently, you’ll know what I’m talking about!
So, for my second Winter post, we head back to Italy with Levante, their thirteen new designs and why you shouldn’t wrap up too much this season.
Levante Garda Lace is our premier design, and what a design! Lace tights are forever popular and designers will release at least one in each new range, but these fashion tights are exceptional. The larger lace pattern makes this a bold look, and makes it one of the most tasteful lace patterns this season.
Levante Contrast Circles, you can tell by the photography this was designed with smart and chic in mind. Black tights have always been a fixture of women’s suits, but the white circles on this design give work wear an eye-catching advantage.
Opaque Punto is intricate, complex and fits in perfectly this season. The mesh of diamonds and snowflake white dots make it an ideal winter design.
Italian Argyle. Fashion tights don’t get much more striking than this. The sumptuous pink and lake green mixture makes for a warming addition to your winter wardrobe.
Toning Hoops, a classic ringed look, fantastic for add colour and verve to your plainer outfits. Levante have taken an old favourite and given it the most fitting colour scheme.
Levante Airskin. With these fashion tights, you can keep your legs on show and not worry about keeping warm. Our snuggest tights yet, 150 Denier will handle winter quite nicely, I think.
Sheer Cut Diamonds use leg wear to its greatest potential. The verticals act as a seam, and keep your legs looking long and slender. But it’s the diamond mesh that provides the eye-catching element to these truly innovative fashion tights.
Opaque Window Tights. How can you hide yourself behind a long coat with these on? A gorgeous arabesque honeycomb pattern that should work very well with the tones of the new season. Ivory is always a fantastic way to give a softer edge to striking Winter whites.
A unique design, Sheer Brix is futuristic, but entirely in the minute. The brick patterning keeps attention at the calves with long skirts, but adds an interesting seem around the thighs with your shorter numbers. Levante’s most versatile yet.
Levante’s Sheer Dot Dash Tights, a design I can’t describe and one you have to see for yourself. The whole piece is a mixture of different affects that come together beautifully. Office wear? Perhaps. But for me, these were made for catwalks and Saturday nights.
Contra Punto Hold Ups, the snowflake-dotted cousin of Punto fashion tights, is a design with a warmer pink colour-scheme to complement its tights counterpart, this time including the most original lace tops I’ve seen this season.
Punto Rib Hold Ups, a subtle design using an old leg-lengthening favourite, ribbed lines. Pairing these with heels will double the effect and will result in a winning outfit!
And now for my favourite, Levante Filigree. If any of Levante’s new fashion tights make you want to throw away thick trousers and long skirts, it’ll be these. Lavish designs are always a favourite from Italian designers, but these look more like a French regal design to me. A true Marie Antoinette item, and not to be worn with anything less than the most stunning dress!
So, now you know why swrapping up take a closer look first. Unfortunately, there just isn’t enough room to put all the pictures up here. Take a look at Levante, and if you liked this review, make sure you subscribe to get free reviews by email, for reviews on all sorts of stunning leg wear designs. Until then!
I was watching TV the other day, and I noticed something quite interesting on Gardener’s World. I noticed that when I’m in my garden, or doing any work around the house, I throw on something scruffy, but the presenter was wearing a floral skirt and some very fashionable knitted tights.
At first I thought it might be because she is presenting, but then I realised I do the same thing. Not with skirts and tights, but I do get fed up with wearing old painting rags, and I’ll put on jeans and a button-down shirt. Sometimes, it’s just nice to look nice, even if you’re not going anywhere.
So, having realised there’s a whole range of outdoor hosiery needs I haven’t covered, I’ve set to work compiling a little handbook of great outdoor tights, Eco-friendly items and woolly knits you might want to pair with your wellies.
Now, if you’re a gardener, you might be saying “Kyle, its gonna be Winter soon, I need tights, but not for gardening!” Well, that’s true, but of course there are all sorts of little jobs that gardeners get up to at this time of year. Building little enclosures and such. So you might find your spending more time out there than you’d expected.
So, the first item I’ll recommend is Bonnie Doon Plaid Tartan Check. Yes, it’s a fashion item, I can’t help it! This piece is absolutely brilliant, both design-wise and in quality. I did pick this one based on its more natural, earthy colouring, so if you feel like wearing something particularly smart, these are for you.
Although I would keep in mind, the Bonnie Doon Plaid is an acrylic item, so if you’re searching for a more natural feel, I’d suggest the Trasparenze Gennifer. These are made from 70% Lana wool, one of the most luxurious materials in leg wear production. Lana feels as smooth as cashmere, so these thick tights will stay warm, comfortable and stylish for any outdoor activities.
If you do want to stick firmly on the side of fabulous, there’s a second Bonnie Doon product I can recommend. Bonnie Doon Uniform Footless is a fantastic design for wearing in the wilderness of your garden. The grey and heather combination will give you the perfect Highland look and keep your legs snug and cosy.
One item I must cover (for fear of being labelled a bad blogger) is knits. Every gardener or generally an outdoors person, you have to include one or two knitted items in your Winter outfits. So, if you plan on Spring cleaning like the May Queen this season, you absolutely must try Trasparenze Chopin. These aren’t strictly knitted, but crocheted. This makes them particularly insulating, and keeps any outdoors-man (or woman) warm all day long and still gives you that perfect folkish country look.
Unfortunately, I can’t review all of our woolly outdoor tights, as we have so many of them! Darn our huge selection! But the best place to go if you want some other warm and comfy items is our Wool and Winter tights section, or if you want extra cosiness around your ankles and lower legs, our Leg Warmer section might also be worth a look.
If you found this review helpful, sign up to my blog and receive free updates by email, or if you know someone with greener finger’s than yourself who might like my review, forward this email on to them. And merry outdoor adventures to you!
Some days ago, I posted on how you might have to invest in some super warm tights, because the new Winter fashion tights were ages away from arriving… I was wrong.
The day after I posted on these fashion tights, the Trasparenze Autumn/Winter arrived and is now available on, of all places, the Trasparenze page.
And, oh my, they seem to have done it again. It would be best to take a good look at all the items for yourself, just so you can see the images in full, but I’ll add some snippets and reviews about these new products.
First up, Yoriki, which some of our most senior individuals (Dawn) insisted on calling “Yorkie”. Ironic, as these certainly ARE for girls. This sums up Trasparenze in one very sexy nutshell. The designers specialise in creating designs that are sensual, feminine, but still sophisticated. And it seems anything a backseam can do, Yoriki can do better. Their backseam is a chain pattern that links to a tasteful loop at the bottom of the waist, the perfect way to draw a glance to your legs.
The Yoriki also comes in two other varieties. Yoriki Strip Panty is even more eye catching. The designers have had yet another stroke of genius and added a black trim to the edging, giving this item, and your legs, real definition.
Yoriki Hold Ups are a little more minimalist looking without their mock-panties, so the seams are given full attention. Trasparenze has always been at its best creating this kind of visual attraction with their leg wear.
Another fantastic, defined strip panty is the Fuyo, but this one is more of a period piece than the Yoriki. The black stocking legs and cosmetic pin-stripes give this design a classic mafia look. Make a note of this one, it’s a definite winner for parties and nights out.
Fuyo also comes in regular tights. Like the strip panty, this comes with a mock suspender belt section. Come to think of it, with those pin stripes, this could be added to a suit or smart outfit, ready for the offce. Yep, now you can stay fashionable all day long.
Riki is perhaps the most complex design I’ve spotted amongst the new fashion tights this winter. the intricate visuals around the thigh and ankle gives this opaque item, and the wearer, a very sophisticated look. I’d say pick a pair of these up for pairing with a black dress, this is evening wear material for sure.
Joko is one of my favourite designs this season. The bow and ribbon seam is so original, this is going to be one of the best selling fashion tights this season and the birthday/Christmas gift of the year.
I like the Joko, but you have to give Trasparenze a lot of credit for Jkay. This is another gift-wrap themed design, but this time, the legs are encased in a cross-ribbon, with a fantastic seal at the top and bottom of the ribbons. I would say this design is Trasparenze’s masterpiece this Winter.
Kenzo is the one to watch out for from the Italian fashion house this season, and these are truly special. I’m finding it difficult to actually describe these. The designs on the thighs are entirely original, and the mock lace-up panties are inspired.
The last two designs I have to show you are the Seisho Tights, and Seisho Hold Ups. The tights have an attention-to-detail you rarely get to see in the fashion world. This mock-stocking has delicate floral and lace triangles on the thigh and on the hip. This kind of patterning gives these tights the perfect regal look. The suspenders even have tiny mock tassels to give the perfect, authentic edge to the whole item.
And Trasparenze haven’t neglected your hold ups. To replace the above-thigh designs on the tights, your hold-ups have smaller mock-suspenders on each thigh. This one might have to be seen up close to see exactly what I mean, but the item is definitely my favourite hold up of the season.
Well, thats all for now from one of my favourite designers. I’m sure all these will all be popular this Winter, and if I were to advice you on what to buy if you’re looking for feminine and fashionable, it would be the new Trasparenze.
I hope you enjoyed reading, and if you haven’t already, subscribe for free by using the button on the right, and you’ll recieve free updates by email.
Summer is not what it used to be.
It seems that Summer is getting shorter every year, and if you live in Britain, you’ll have opened the curtains this morning and realised that it’s time for duffel coats.
So, as a dedicated fashion tights Blogger and leg wear expert, I thought I might recommend a few items to keep you nice and warm until October time, when the Autumn/Winter fashion season starts.
Kunert Warm Up Tights spring to mind. These tights are built for winter wear and designed to retain heat. If you need something to tackle arctic lows, these are for you.
If you don’t need this kind of super warm leg wear just yet, a lighter cotton pair might be better for you. Falke Cotton Touch will be just the ticket. These are our softest tights, and I recommend them to everyone looking for comfort and warmth. They’re also designed by one of the best manufacturers of hosiery in the world, Falke, and are beautifully made. I can’t recommend these enough if you want to start your perfect Winter wardrobe.
These items are all popular classics, but if you absolutely cannot wait for the new Winter fashion tights, we have the perfect item, Trasparenze Chopin, which comes in both tights and footless. This item is one of our best sellers, and as an extra treat, they seem to have both been lowered in the sale! These tights are crocheted, so they feel like a woolly jumper, and because they are made with 70% Lana wool, they are some of the comfiest of our fashion tights.
But you might be saying, “But Kyle, I live in a much hotter place than the UK, what about me?!” Well, if you’re weather is getting warmer this time of year, I’d recommend our Sheer Tights section. These are all fantastic if you still see the sun from time to time and our Fashion Tights section always has both Summer and Winter designs in it.
I hope this will keep you looking fabulous for the next few weeks until Autumn/Winter properly starts. Your best-loved brands should be arriving in no time, so keep an eye out for them on our site, or subscribe to my blog via email for free, and receive automatic updates. And don’t worry to much about those grey skies, we’ve chosen some very exciting designs this year, so you definitely have something to look forward to.
Good news avid hosiery fans! UK Tights has officially launched it’s Summer Sale!
Every year, we scout around for new brands and new releases, and we make sure that all of our items are exactly what our customers want for the coming months!
We pay close attention to all of the top fashion publications to see what will be the best products to have ready for the following season.
This Summer, we have decided to treat our customers with over 80 reduced products. We have some popular favourites, some fantastic leg cosmetics and a whole range of fashion items available in the sale until Sunday 15th August.
Also, this summer, we decided that with all the new brands we’ve been introducing, it would be great for our customers if we could select a few classic products and put them in the sale. Pretty Polly Vintage Nylons, one of our most popular items, is in the sale. A little mid-season gift for our customers.
Although, any Summer Sale worth having has a few fashion items to offer too. Several Falke items have been added, so you won’t be without a few stylish designs these coming months. We have received so much positive feedback for the Falke Lopez and Falke Kelly that we thought having them in the sale would be the perfect treat for you fashion lovers.
But summer sales need a few extra items that go beyond leg wear. So we’ve added a huge range of balms, butters, make ups and moisturisers, so you can give your legs the attention they deserve.
I’m also very glad to see some of our coloured items on sale this week. After all, this is the season for colour. If you already subscribe to my blog, you may have received the post on summer fashion and coloured hosiery. If not, take a look at it and you might find some interesting tips about fashionable colours this season. I can tell you the top tip this Spring/Summer is clashing. Add some bright colours to any outfit, but make sure they contrast. I am quite fond of the lime green and bubblegum pink ensemble myself. If you’d like to try a good clashing look, I’d recommend Pamela Mann Twickers, one of our brighter and louder items. All Twickers come with black and coloured stripes, so you already have two colours to start your summer look.
Another great coloured item from Pamela Mann is the Backgammon Tights design. This is a unique item, something I’ve not seen done like this before, but very creative and a pattern that’s proving to be very popular, an especially popular item for summer parties.
I have to say, for this season’s sale, there’s far too much to cover in just one post. So, if there’s one piece of advice I’m going to give you today, it’s take a look for yourself.
There is always so much to talk about in the way of fantastic products, there doesn’t seem to be enough time to do them justice. I really think there’s something for you in the sale this year, there’s something for everyone, after all.
Our sale will be on until Sunday 15th August, so you have just over a week to find that extra special item. So go right ahead, browse the page and treat yourself!
There’s nothing quite like looking forward to something you know is going to be fantastic. As a fashion enthusiast, I love to see what new brands I can post about, but I really love when an old favourite releases it’s new range.
Henry Holland, a name that I’m always happy to hear, has finished his next cycle of designs. But something I love to hear even more, UK Tights is the first retailer to make the range available for sale.
Today, all his designs were made public on our website, and I was immediately impressed. Holland is a respectable designer for sure, but he’s also a popular designer, and one that is difficult to get hold of.
A few weeks ago, a young lady telephoned our customer services department, just after Holland’s last cycle of designs came out. She wanted to place an order for his new items, and after we took her order, she told us that she was actually Hollands sister-in-law, and often visits him at his studio in London. What really surprised us was she kept saying how annoying it was that she had seen all him designing the tights, but couldn’t get hold of a pair of the darn things herself.
Henry Holland’s reputation speaks for itself, he is world respected as a designer, and his products just sell out straight away.
But you don’t have to know him by reputation to see why everything that comes out of his studio flys off the shelf. I loved every design of the new range. Each one reflects a creativity that we are so glad we can be a part off.
The Henry Holland Bandana OTK was the first I saw, and the first item to go onto the Henry Holland brand page. I love paisley, and I was happy to see that the traditional bandana pattern was used for the mock hold-up tops on this design. Paisley tights are popular, but sometimes they can be a bit over-facing if there’s too much on the leg. Keeping the pattern exclusive to the mock tops is an inspired choice. The leg also includes paisley teardrops, arabesque diamonds and ornate crosses, which finishes the design off perfectly.
Bandana Tights is the companion piece to the OTK. A brilliant eye-catcher with a simpler, less ornate design, the Bandana is a chic way to add flare to black sheers. These tights will definitely be popular for dresses and is a definite outfit-companion. A stylish choice for office wear and parties alike.
Bandana Suspender, Holland’s third piece, is a storm of a pattern, and no doubt my favourite. This exciting combination of patterns is like the Bandana OTK, but the mock stocking tops are arched with a frenzied zig zag line imitating a suspender. These mock stockings are a wonderful, ornate addition to any outfit, and the best design out of Holland’s new collection.
There’s still one extra item in the portfolio this season. The Chain Suspender, a mock stocking with a gold Lurex strip as the suspender. Mock stockings have been popular in Holland’s work before, but his innovation makes this piece unique.
The designs this season are fantastic, and if you go and take a look at the Henry Holland page, I’m sure you’ll see exactly what I mean. Take a look, and happy shopping!
Classic hosiery is always a pleasure to wear, but you can’t beat fresh and fashionable designs. Simpler sheer tights are a great and versatile item of leg wear, ideal for the office, perfect for parties and beautifully elegant for evening wear. But when the warm weather finally arrives, it’s the perfect time for you to make a statement and make yourself look fabulous in summer tights – you certainly deserve it!
Pamela Mann is a brand of hosiery that is world renowned for its fantastic designs and it’s one of UK Tights’ best selling brands. Summer is well upon us, so tights might not be the first thing on your mind when choosing your outfit. But don’t worry, Pamela Mann’s sheerest item is 10 denier, perfect for giving you a look that’s summer-friendly.
I’ve always though that Pamela Mann’s best designs are their summer ones. The summer fashion season has always been Pamela Mann’s time to shine, and there’s always a design in their collection that you’ll love, whatever your tastes.
My personal favourite, Pink Swirl Butterfly, is an all-time winner, and I can’t imagine a better Summer tights design. With Pamela Mann’s logo being a butterfly, you’re never surprised to see them release a great butterfly print.
Then again, Funky Diva, the design that’s selling like hotcakes, is one of the most creative prints I’ve seen in a summer collection, and I adore it. Bright colouring is the centre of Summer tigthts designs this year, so these are a fantastic addition to your summer wardrobe. You don’t want to miss these.
Something that’s become really popular in the past few months is floral. It’s always been a summer favourite, but it seems its overtaken plain dresses and looks like it’s the pattern of the season. Pamela Mann Wild Rose is the perfect way to bring floral into any outfit, and they look great outdoors, so you’ll be up-to-date and fabulous wherever you are.
So, go ahead, treat yourself. Do it now, because that sunshine won’t last forever!
Fashion magazines, after you get past all the adverts, give the best advice on style, trends, popular designs and what to wear this season. Elle, Vogue and the like always have every kind of clothing in their pages, so when I come across a piece on the best hosiery for summer, its always the first part I read.
If you’re looking for what’s best for the catwalk, magazines are by far the best, but not too many magazines can recommend which hosiery is best for you!
Here’s a few hints and tips to go by when buying hosiery, so that you will always find the perfect pair for you:
- Colour: Colour can be tricky to get right, and it depends on what you’re buying them for. If you are looking to match with a dress or outfit, find the same shade, or completely contrast. Contrasting is getting to be very popular and mixing bubblegum pink with lime green is very fashionable. If you’d like more information of how to use colours, I’d recommend my post on coloured tights.
- Patterns: Pairing colours is a tough job, but pairing patterns is even tougher. If you have a plain dress, go for either plain or pattern tights, either is fine. The only thing to avoid is two different patterns! Unless you can find exactly the same design, I would avoid doing this, otherwise people might think Picasso took up dress making.
- Sizing: On each of our product pages you’ll find a sizing guide below the sizing option. Sizing guides are made by the companies that produce the hosiery, so they are almost always accurate. If you fit into a certain size on the guide, that’s the one the hosiery, and you, will always look best in. Each brand uses a different guide, so its important to take a quick look at the chart if you’re trying a brand for the first time.
- Tights, Stockings or Hold Ups: Picking between tights, hold ups and stockings is a personal thing, this is one I can’t advise you on. Just pick the one that feel best for you. Try a few different brands for each type until you feel most comfortable. If you still can’t decide, try suspender tights, like the Trasparenze Cortina. This is a great way to find a happy medium. They are less constrainting aroung the brief, but don’t have any of those fiddly clips you find on stockings. Crotchless tights might also be advisable if you are looking for something a little lighter for summer.
- Make it Your Own: I love to know what’s in fashion. I think its one of the best ways to express yourself and a fantastic way to give yourself a treat, but I always make it my own. If I don’t feel that these shoes are me, I don’t buy them, I love to be myself. If you find a pair of tights you like, go for it! Even if their not the “in-colour” this season, don’t worry, as long as feel good in them, you’ll look good in them!
- And for Everything Else: If you are still unsure about what to buy, or which design is the best one for you, you can always phone UK Tights customer services. A customer services adviser is the perfect way to find exactly what you are looking for if you can’t find it on our website. Our lines are open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, and the number is 01625 460 180. UK Tights staff value the customer above everything else, so if you need anything, we’ll be here to help.
So as we’re at the start of the summer season, pick up a few fashion magazines and see what’s in style, but don’t forget, you always have to find the style that’s right for you.
Who’d have thought coloured tights would become so fashionable this year? They’re really on trend now and every other request we get is for more and more different colours – it seems they’re an all-year-round sensation!
I have to warn you; coloured hosiery is a difficult thing to pull off, “matching” and “complimenting” are my normal top tips for anything with brighter hues. This is the traditional view of bright and loud clothing, although, in a recent article in Esquire magazine, the word of the season was “clash!” No, not the 70’s punk group – clashing clothing! Apparently, bright pink tights or fluorescent green tights are absolutely fine and can now be worn without fear.
Use coloured tights as a simple way to spice up an outfit and if you decide to go all traffic lights this spring, Pamela Mann is the best brand to take a look at.
Or, if you DO want to go for 70’s Punk chic, Pamela Mann Sculls are for you, florescent tights with little black skull-and-cross-bones all over the legs, rock on!
Pamela Mann Twickers are always a good choice for Rock ‘n’ Roll fashion; the stripes are perfect for reliving those old air-guitar days! Twickers have been popular for some time and the range of both full length and footless coloured tights makes this a versatile option for everything from daily wear, to party accessories.
If you’re just looking for vivid colour however, The Oroblu All Colours are the perfect coloured tights for you. The 20 denier would be my first recommendation for summer, but then again, the average British weather forecast would make the 50 denier more appropriate. Both varieties come in a whole range of colours, so you’ll never be short of choice, they are one of the best brands in production today with lost of five star customer reviews.
Even though we have already said a touch of clashing colour will do fine, there is a limit to how outrageous you can be while still looking good. So to help you out a little, I have included some tips for pulling off such a vivid look.
- One extreme or the Other
Either dazzling or subtle. Bright florescent colours or pastels, powders and pale shades. It’s a bad idea to combine a shocking lime with powder blue, but mix that same green with fuchsia, or purple tights with a candyfloss pink and you’ll be on to a winner.
- Less is More
Don’t introduce too many colours, one for the top, one for the bottoms if you’re not wearing a dress, and one for each accessory like a scarf, headdress, footwear etc. The point is to have contrasting colours, not as many colours as you can get on at once.
- Patterns and Plain
If you’re wearing a patterned dress, the best accompaniment by far is plain hosiery in bright tones. The classic white summer dress has been popular since anyone can remember, but can easily be made that much more vivid with some patterned hosiery. Alternating is advised, and even a plain dress with plain tights looks fantastic, but avoid pattern-on-pattern. This is risky, unless the person who designed the dress also released some tights to go with them; you are going to clash (and not in the good way!).

- Socks and Ankle Wear
Some people are more traditional when it comes to wearing contrasting clothes. If classic style is your choice look at ankle wear. Hudson has released a very popular purple Ankle Cuff this spring, but if you are still looking for dazzling shades, the Trasparenze Anachis would suit you better. These items are perfect for adding some flare to an outfit, but don’t come too far up the leg, keeping their distance from your dress and keeping them from conflicting. Something else you can try if you’re not up to wear tights all summer is the Trasparenze Valentina, a fantastic sheer hold that keeps with our theme of colour, but doesn’t go right up to the waist, making it perfect for a bright, fresh and fashion summer alternative to tights.
Well, I hope this has given you some useful information on how to use coloured tights to add some zest to your look this spring, and your legs will be sure to turn heads. Remember, anything that is loud, bright and colourful will do fine, just keep it tasteful, not too garish and you’ll do fine. Now it’s summer a bright shade or two can’t go wrong, and as long as you pair the colours well, you’ll look fantastic.
Bring on the sunshine!
Dear readers, good news has come our way this week, and what a week it was! Our newest brand, Silky, has been a cracking success and some of our items have sold out already! This is fantastic to hear, but it isn’t, of course, the good news we are talking about. The news is that we shall very soon be taking on two more labels by the Silky manufacturer and we can tell you that we have already seen the designs.
Based on customer opinion, the designs by Vixen and Tattoo will sure to be very popular, and if you liked the leggings that were added last week, you will love the designs that are to arrive very soon.
Normally, we wouldn’t mention a brand before it’s arrived and on the website, but based on the popularity of this manufacturer, we thought it best you know in advance what we have in store for you. Unfortunately, we don’t have any images as yet, so we can’t post any tasters on our blog yet, but we will be sure to make another post announcing their arrival.
Oh and just to calm your worries, when we say “sold out”, we don’t mean they aren’t in production, we only mean that they are currently not in stock, so if you are looking for some Jeggings, Anaconda print leggings or Iguana scales, UK Tights is still number one for your Silky needs!
