Question for you: I don’t want to spend a fortune on sheer hold-ups (they are usually quite sheer and delicate … so don’t get so many wears out of them) … are there a cheaper brand WITHOUT a lace top / welt?
For instance, your number 10. Wolford Flavia Hold Ups … I like these because of the plain top / welt … but wow!, they are expensive (I know they are Wolford, so they are probably awesome).

Yes, any Wolford hold ups are just ideal. You can find here a selection of flat top sheer hold ups from as little as £6.99. If I can just recommend one style, I think the Trasparenze Capri Hold Ups are a lovely product. They look pretty much like the Wolford Individual 10, for half the price 😉

I regularly wear Wolford hold ups that fit perfectly well to the body even if I perform many movements. One exception, when I wear hold ups (black fishnet) over nude tights, my stockings then slide very easily on the tights. And so in these circumstances, I use a garter belt to hold the hold ups

When you wear two layers, wearing a garter belt seems a safer option, just to make sure they stay in place. Good tip, Corsair!

I have noticed that when some models are wearing hold-ups they also use a suspender belt. If I use a suspender belt with my hold-ups do I risk damaging them over many wearings? I prefer the more secure feeling a suspender belt gives me and I don’t want to deprive myself of the large number of beautiful hold-ups that are available.

There should be no issue with wearing a belt with hold ups, they are designed to hold up fine on their own, but yes you can wear a suspender belt too.
