Marie Jo are a Belgium company, and thus they have quite an old connection and shared history with the Land of the Rising Sun. Over 400 years ago only the Netherlands, which included Belgium then, was allowed to trade with Japan. All of the precious materials, fabrics, works of art, clothing, foodstuffs and dry goods that cam from the Eastern land came through this tiny corner of Europe, and centuries of this leaves an imprint on one's own fashion, art and interior design.
