Our Favourites From The MET Gala 2025

It does not seem like it could have been a whole year from the last MET Gala. The days are long but the years are short, or so they say. But here we are again, doing a MET Gala 2025 run down on our favourite designs. Of course, we have a bias towards tights and other leg wear in the look. Or a look that could be easily adapted to include hosiery. But not always. Sometimes, we just want to express our love for something amazing that is being worn.

Kylie Jenner

A corset dress with a long drop and a split side? We are there for it. It’s a stunning dress and one that could be worn to many different events and occasions. It has that classic Hollywood starlet look that we adore, and something that makes it versatile. Wear a pair of sheer black or nude tights with this dress, for sure.

Hailey Bieber

Hailey is already wearing sheer black tights with this one. It’s almost as if we don’t need to add anything to Ms Bieber’s outfit, former model that she is. It’s perfectly balanced. Angular at the shoulders, flattering around the waist. Big and full but not boxy or swimming in material. Black tights is what she wore, and it is all you should consider for a she-means-business look like that.

Chappell Roan

This one is all about the outfit itself. We can’t make a suggestion for accompanying leg wear, because the legs are covered by some stunning pants. They are some of the most striking of all the trousers worn at the gala. And they are every bit as striking as that bold big-lapel jacket. It’s what the MET Gala is all about, and Ms Roan killed it with her magenta monstrosity. Here’s some magenta and other shades of pink if you want to try it for yourself.

 

Sabrina Carpenter at the MET Gala 2025

When does Sabrina Carpenter ever look anything other than fabulous? We haven’t seen it. Here, she looks like a circus ring-mistress, with a rich burgundy red basque and jacket. It is bold and beautiful and full of an old school charm we love. Don’t go bare legged however, as miss Carpenter did. Fishnets work beautifully with this old school vaudevillian look.

Sydney Sweeney

A stunning night sky effect from this glittering dress makes it a head turner alone. If that weren’t enough, the feminine and flattering cut out effect soon follows suit. It is a dazzling dress that screams “Hollywood starlet” and we love it.

Miranda Kerr at the MET Gala 2025

Another one that simply cannot look any less than amazing, it seems. She has been a veteran of the modelling world for years though,s o it is to be expected. A not-so-little-black-dress is a fantastic choice for a red carpet event. But only if the you need to be a little wacky for the event, that is.

Doja Cat

There were so many old school big band era outfits at the MET gala 2025. The theme here is big shoulders and boxy outfits and boldness abounding. It’s a good direction to take a design for an event like this. Pin stripes and a big cat print together? We never thought it could be pulled off. But Doja Cat at the MET Gala 2025 was all about pairing those things up together.

Janelle Monae

Speaking of big band aesthetics, take a look at the Janelle Monae outfit here. It is a visually stunning one, with weird and twisting geometric shapes. The print visually settles on a kind of Art Deco figure of a woman in a business suit though. It’s an outfit that contains an outfit. Very interesting and striking. It is not something we can recommend to much to match exactly. But we will lift one thing we like from it and recommend that. Geometrics. Patterned tights are amazing and so many of them come in stripes or with angular elements. If you like the Monae look, then patterned tights are what you want.

Suki Waterhouse

The not-so-little-black-dress is once again the little-black-dress. This is a simple business-like blazer transformed into a dress. It is gorgeous and beautiful and full of a timeless charm that just works perfectly.

Lisa at the MET GALA 2025

And finally, our favourite look. Lisa, the Korean pop star, actually wore tights for the MET Gala 2025. They were sheer black tights by Louis Vuitton. Timeless, classic, unfussy, simplistic, elegant, everything fashion should be. We already recommended black tights above, but this one is worth a mention again. If you want the Lisa look, wear sheer black tights only. No opaques, and no other colours.
