Licorice is the very definition of a classic piece of leg wear. This hold up design is a timeless floral lace, a pattern that has been with us throughout most of recorded history. It was popular amongst the aristocracy of the Middle Ages due to it being quite difficult to make by hand, and became more abundant during the Industrial Revolution due it being easier than ever to make with new machinery. It has only grown in popularity since then and is a fabric that many other trends have grown around. This makes it very versatile, and of course, fantastically feminine too.
